I wanted to draw up a ref for my newest character UoU
Guess who is trying her hand at space
Name: Gammy
Age:25
Occupation: Mechanic
Height: 5'4"
Species: Human/ Changling
Personality: she is a do no harm but take no shit kind of gal, fun loving, impulsive, proud, and stubborn
Fun Facts:
- Gammy works as a mechanic on a ship called, The Vagabond, where the majority of the crew makes up her adopted family. She has a knack for machinery, and prides herself in keeping the ship in working order.
-The Vagabond may be involved in some shady stuff, (smuggling, a bit of space piracy, and not the mention certain crew member blowing off a sizable amount of gambling debts) However, the space piracy only comes when competing smug- I mean exporters get involved. Or if the right price is mentioned.
-This unsavory business is actually how Gammy came to be a member of the crew. Once upon a time, the crew of the Vagabond was paid to transport a small amount of cargo, and paid double to not ask questions. It was suppose to be a quick, high paying job, however hen one of the crew members was checking on the cargo, they discovered one of the crates to be moving. Nearly scare them to death! Upon prying the crate open he found a five year old Gammy. The crew assumed that she was a black market purchase, after all there destination was know quite well for their zoos... Now, even space smugglers have to have standards! Or at least the crew of Th Vagabond did. So the crew took her in, raised her and made her a full fledged member. The crew member who found her, Nau and his wife Captain Ma Xu took the role as her primary caregivers.
-So Gammy is a Changling, which are humans, most of which are breed for black market sales. However, in many cases, they are not necessarily a 100% human. That isn't to say that they not mostly mostly human. It is just somewhere down the line, they have some alien dna in them. Rarely, enough to effect anything.
-Ma Xu was in no way gonna have anyone associated with her name be defenseless, so Ma taught Gammy to be a good marksman at a young age, if what could probably be labeled as "questionable" parenting techniques
-Gammy can't cook, like at all, it usually ends up with her filling the kitchen with smoke and Cook booting her out.
-Ma also taught her how to pay cards.
-In my head old disco tunes some how found their way into space by some way or another, (lets say the radio wave earth put out into space ok) and Gammy loves them.
The crew has always knows to stay out of the engine room when they can hear "She's a Bad Mama Jama" playing, cuz it means Gammy working super hard on something
She especially loves Earth, Wind, & Fire
